Adding / Editing News Posts

This help document assumes the user is logged in and on the dashboard page

Adding new News Post

  1. In the left hand side of the dashboard, hover pointer on the title ‘News Post’
  2. Click on ‘Add New News Post’
  3. Fill in the box at the top of the screen which says ‘Add title’
  4. In the large box underneath the title, add any relevant information you wish to be displayed. Try to keep the formatting the same as all the other News Post items. You can use the toolbar to make items bold, italic, justified etc.
  5. You can add up to 5 images for the new post. Click on the buttons below the box you just filled in labelled ‘Add image’. Choose the image from the media library or add your own. See how to upload images help doc.
  6. Set a featured image by clicking on ‘Set Featured image’ in the box at the right hand side. Choose the relevant image to represent the added News item.
  7. Check over the content added and if correct, click on the ‘Publish’ button at the top right hand side of the page.
  8. You can set an auto expiry date for the post if you only want the post to be visible for a set period of time. Down on the right side in a box labelled ‘Expiry Date’ Click into the box and choose the expiry date from the date picker.
  9. Your entry has now been completed.
  10. Go to the website frontend and check your addition is shown. If not, try the troubleshooting guide on the dashboard.

Editing News Posts

  1. In the left hand side of the dashboard, hover pointer on the title ‘News Post’
  2. Click on ‘All News Post’
  3. Either scroll through the list of posts or use the search box at the top right side to look for the post.
  4. Once you’ve found the desired post, hover over the post title and select ‘Edit’ button clicking on the link.
  5. Make the desired changes and press ‘Update’ button to save the changes to the post.
