Wild About Hethersett – Revisited

In 2011, an Almanac of Biodiversity – Wild About Hethersett was published in celebration and memory of the founder member of Hethersett Environmental Action Team, George Beckford.

In 2026 we plan to publish “Wild About Hethersett Revisited” which is a fantastic way to continue the legacy of George Beckford and to record the local biodiversity of the village. 

To support this initiative, we need you to keep a nature diary to track local bird species, record plant blooming times, seasonal changes and any notable sightings of plants, trees or shrubs, document the emerging of insects and mammals sightings and to record environmental information such as temperatures. Any information you can provide will help us to shape the publication, no matter how small. Please provide the area of Hethersett in which this information was captured.

• Drop Box: Alternatively, drop off your nature diary at the village hall letterbox.

Your contributions will play a crucial role in documenting the changes in biodiversity over the years and ensuring that this important local project continues to thrive.
