The strategic gap land, located on the North Hethersett Development is a piece of land covering a total area of 10.51ha, and is being developed for community use, open space and green infrastructure. Planned features include allotments, parking, cycle paths and bike trails, and potentially a sports pitch to accommodate u11/u12 football teams.
Other informal leisure areas are to include a natural amphitheatre, community orchards, community woodland with footpaths, wildlife ponds/log piles and natural play trail.

As part of the delivery, the developers, Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon Homes will install the open space facilities. The land will then be formally transferred to Hethersett Parish Council in 2026, who will receive a commuted sum for the maintenance over the first ten years.
